Dr. Will Barone is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher who has focused his career on supporting clients through exploring themselves and the challenges or questions in their lives.

Dr. Barone has expertise in treating a range of issues and conditions including anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, OCD, and various life transitions.

Dr. Barone uses a Humanistic approach to therapy, which emphasizes warmth, authenticity, and appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual. His collaborative, integrative approach focuses on helping each client find an individualized course of treatment to meet their goals, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each person’s needs and preferences. He also specializes in utilizing novel treatment approaches for clients when they have not found benefit with traditional methods. Dr. Barone enjoys seeing clients virtually across the state of California and on a limited basis in Oakland, CA.

Dr. Barone’s pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training included leading inpatient psychiatric crisis programs, working in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy clinical and research settings, and doing extensive work with trauma, substance use issues, anxiety and mood disorders. He obtained his Clinical Psychology doctoral degree from John F. Kennedy University and studied psychology at CSU, Chico for his bachelor’s degree.
