Dr. Teddy Akiki

Psychiatrist

Teddy Akiki, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and neuroscientist. He earned his M.D. from the American University of Beirut and completed his Psychiatry Residency at Stanford University and the Cleveland Clinic, where he received the NIMH Outstanding Resident Award.

At Stanford, he also completed the Interventional Psychiatry/Neuromodulation pathway. He completed postdoctoral training at the Yale Department of Psychiatry and the National Center for PTSD – Clinical Neurosciences Division, specializing in multimodal neuroimaging, network neuroscience, and clinical trials of rapid-acting antidepressants.

His research is focused on the neural underpinnings of chronic stress, depressive, and trauma-related disorders, working to identify brain-based biomarkers for precision psychiatry and developing novel therapies for severe mental illnesses.
